meaning - Is there a word to describe a feeling of devotion or love to or being a fanatic to a country that is not my own?


Patriotism is the word that describes a love or devotion to a person's own country. I'm looking for a similar word except one that describes this same feeling when it is not your own country you’re feeling this towards but rather another country that is not your own.

First floor vs ground floor, usage origin

Ground floor – First floor: In British English, the floor of a building which is level with the ground is called the ground floor. The floor above it is called the first floor, the floor above that is the second floor, and so on. In American English, the floor which is level with the ground is called the first floor, the floor above it is the second floor, and so on. My grandmother, who grew up in western Pennsylvania, pronounced wash and Washington with an intrusive R : “warsh” and “Warshington.” Where does the intrusive R come from in that dialect?
