The way I learned it in school, "connect to" was physical, as in "The printer is connected to the computer's USB port" and "connect with" was not physical, as in "He was not connected with the gang that robbed the bank."

Ground floor – First floor: In British English, the floor of a building which is level with the ground is called the ground floor. The floor above it is called the first floor, the floor above that is the second floor, and so on.
