pronunciation - How to pronounce the names of supersymmetric partner particles of fermions


The names of supersymmetric partner particles of fermions are formed by s- + the name of the normal particle. E.g.:

(The names of superpartners of bosons are formed differently, by changing -on to -ino, e.g., gluino.)


I couldn't find any information online on how to pronounce these words. Would you pronounce "sfermion" (for instance) as /ˈɛs ˈfɝːmiɑn/ or /ˈsfɝːmiɑn/ or something else?

As I have heard these pronounced, one says "Es" and then the following particle name, Es Fermion.


On a side note, the "on" receives the same pronunciation as the "on" in "proton."

From my experience, it seems that although unstable is more commonly used, instable is often preferred in engineering and scientific contexts, e.g. "aircraft instability", "instable algorithm". Are there any differences in the implied meaning of the two terms? Should unstable be preferred? Answer I have not seen the word "instable" being used often. The word "instability" exists, though. Funnily, the word "unstability" does not exist. And even in engineering, the same two words are used - "unstable sorting algorithm", "unstable equilibrium", and as you said, "aircraft instability".
